David Crane having retired from public service now offers a consultancy and interpretation service based around the heritage of the inland waterways. In particular he works with clients to provide blacksmith interpretations and educational resources.
A keen interest in inland waterways and history in general from an early age, together with a few coincidences led to a decision to work within the heritage sector.
Previous experience as a police schools liaison officer working within the national curriculum and developing differentiated resources across all key stages provides a firm understanding of the needs of clients within the education sector.
”I came to Blacksmithing much later in life and now I have been fortunate enough to be able to work from the Smithy in Malham and can use the dedicated workspace to try new and old techniques and undertake commission work.”
